It originated in the city of Mathura in present-day Uttar Pradesh, India.<\/p>\n<p>Peda is known as a mini disc-shaped sweet from the Indian subcontinent. The word Peda is generally used to define a fudge-type cookie prepared with milk solids\/milk powder, sugar, and some flavorings for e.g., cardamom rose. These delicious Indian-style protein balls are known as the ideal post-workout snack.<\/p>\n<p>But it does not mean that you have to avoid it if you are on a Keto Diet! Yes, this Keto Malai Peda is a perfect low-carb sweet for any festival, any occasion.<\/p>\n<p>The recipe\\&#8217;s main ingredients are khoa, sugar, and traditional flavorings, which includes cardamom seeds, pistachio nuts, and saffron. Also, the texture ranges from a rich white to a\u00a0 beautiful caramel color.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In order to make these delicious peas keto-friendly, you just need few ingredients to start with. These will be soft and a little crumbly when you make them, but firm and full of flavor once cooled.<\/span><\/p>\n<h6><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/h6>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">400 g ricotta cheese\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">50 g unsalted butter\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">160 g whey protein powder, preferably unflavoured, or vanilla<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">1<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\/<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">3<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> cup powdered Erythritol or any low carb sweetener or to taste<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">1 tsp cardamom powder<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">butter or ghee for greasing<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Optional: 1 tsp sugar-free vanilla extract<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Optional: chopped or whole almonds for topping<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"color: #0274be\"><b>Request a callback!<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Instructions<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">First, melt the butter in the pan, keep the stove on low flame.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Now add the ricotta cheese and mix with the butter. So keep mixing it till the cheese melts.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">To this- add the sweetener and keep mixing it, ensuring the mixture does not stick to the pan.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Now add the protein powder, a half cup at a time, until the mixture starts to thicken. Now keep stirring ensuring there are no lumps, and add the remaining powder. Exactly after 5 minutes of cooking, the mixture gets thick. Now add in the vanilla essence and cardamom powder and give it a good mix.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Now let the mixture cool, so that you can shape them into balls. Oil your palms with butter or ghee and start shaping the lumpy mixture into small balls and pressing them slightly in the middle. Make 20 medium-shaped or 25 small-shaped balls according to your own preference.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Alternatively, top each ball with chopped or whole almonds. Now keep the protein balls refrigerated for up to a week, or freeze for up to 3 months.
