Lacto &#8211; vegetarian diet &#8211;<\/h6>\n<p>The prefix lacto suggests that this diet includes the dairy products like milk, cheese, cream, ice cream and yogurt. But the foods like meat, fish , poultry and eggs are excluded from this diet.<\/p>\n<h6>2. Ovo &#8211; vegetarian diet-<\/h6>\n<p>The prefix Ovo used here suggests that this diet is inclusive of eggs, but on the other hand exclusive of dairy products. The dairy products include milk, cheese, yogurt and ice cream.\u00a0Meat, fish and poultry are also excluded from the diet in addition to dairy.<\/p>\n<p>Various dishes made of eggs like cakes, muffins or other desserts are included in the diet.<\/p>\n<h6>3. Lacto &#8211; ovo vegetarian diet-<\/h6>\n<p>The lacto &#8211; ovo vegetarian diet is the one that is typically considered the vegetarian diet. As the words Lacto and Ovo suggest, this diet includes eggs and dairy products.<\/p>\n<p>Other animal products like chicken, beef, fish and pork and all other meats are not consumed by the lacto-ovo vegetarians.<\/p>\n<h6>4. Vegan diet-<\/h6>\n<p>This is another most popular diet. This diet excludes all animal products including eggs and dairy along with meat, poultry and fish.<\/p>\n<p>Plant based foods like vegetables, fruits, pulses, cereals, nuts, etc. are included in the diet. There are further more variations to a vegan diet like whole food vegan diet, raw food vegan diet, junk food vegan diet, etc.<\/p>\n<h6>5. Flexitarian diet &#8211;<\/h6>\n<p>This diet is technically not a vegetarian diet as it allows the &#8216;flexibility&#8217; to occasionally include meat, eggs or milk in the diet.<\/p>\n<p>The emphasis is more on the plant foods, like getting more protein from plant based foods, limiting the intake of processed foods and taking animal products in the diet occasionally.<\/p>\n<h6>6. Pescatarian diet &#8211;<\/h6>\n<p>Derived from the word &#8221; pesce&#8221; meaning fish, the Pescatarian diet includes fish along with the plant based foods.
