Why Martina Doesn’t Cheat On Her Diet

So I don’t personally do cheat meals, but when I feel like I really want to have something, I just have it. But it doesn’t happen very often. And this is one rule that I always followed because of my health condition.

Martina mentions that because of having Hashimotos, she has made this one rule of not cheating on her diet. She adds that she doesn’t cheat often, and suggests not to do it too but whenever she feels like having something she just haves it which is rare too.

How Cheating With Gluten Takes You Off Track

I never had anything with gluten because I know that will impact my sidewalk readings. So I’m strict with gluten. I’m strict with soy. I’m really strict with mushrooms. But if it’s a piece of cheesecake, which is not something I usually eat, but I may have it.

Martina says that she doesn’t believe in going back to gluten while cheating too. She adds that she is extremely strict with not including Gluten back in her diet. Martina also mentions that she stays away from Soy and Mushrooms too but if there’s a piece of Cheesecake, that she often doesn’t eat but she won’t minds having it.

Martina’s Take On How Often She Cheats If At All She Does

Occasionally, maybe two or three times a year. Because you should know, that it does put you temporarily out of ketosis. But I don’t think it’s a big deal unless you have a health condition and you have to stay in Ketosis for a long whole time.

Martina says that she would occasionally cheat, and that too just twice or thrice a year. She mentions that one should be cautious as cheating can kick you out of Ketosis. Martina adds that she personally doesn’t think that it’s a big deal unless one has a health condition that requires them to stay in ketosis for a longer period of time.

Why You Should Try Cheating Once

If you want to do cheat meals regularly, you really have to try if it works for you, because in my experience, and from what I’ve heard from others that are doing it, They have found it hard to stop and their cravings are actually worse.

Martina explains that from her experience if someone wants to do cheat meals regularly, they have to once try it out. She adds that one can only know if at all cheating will work for them on Keto to cheat once and see how it goes. Martina finishes by mentioning that from what she has heard, people find it hard to stop cheating once they do, and their cravings shoot up and make things worse.

Martina On How People Will Advice The Opposite

There are people that will tell you the opposite. They will say that if they can have a cheat meal every now and then it helps them stay focused. And that it doesn’t impact their progress. So it’s all about how it affects you.

Martina says that there are people who will come and tell you to have cheat meals as they cheat every now and then. She adds that these people cheat every day and claim that it helps them stay focused and it doesn’t impact their progress in the long run. Martina mentions that it’s all about how cheating affects you, as it is different for everybody.

Dr. Ken Berry is the author of the bestseller “Lies My Doctor Told Me” which exposes myths and misleading health advice from well-meaning doctors, such as avoiding fat. He in fact embraces the Ketogenic diet and often is seen terming Keto as the Proper & Natural Human Diet.

Why It’s Okay To Cheat Once In A While

Once you understand that the ketogenic way of eating is going to help your health in hundreds of ways. And it is definitely a great strategy for fat loss, there’s no doubt about that. If fat loss is your only goal, then I think it’s fine to probably have a cheat meal once a week. That’s not going to completely stall your fat loss.

Dr. Berry says that once you get to know the ins and outs of the Keto Diet, it’s going to help you keep up good health in several ways. He mentions that there’s absolutely no doubt about Keto being a great strategy for Fat Loss. Dr. Berry adds that provided that Fat Loss is your only agenda for going Ketogenic, it’s fine to take a cheat meal once a week and it shouldn’t affect your Fat loss at all.

Why You Shouldn’t Cheat If Best Health Is Your Agenda

If what you’re searching for is the best health, you shouldn’t cheat. You can have the least chronic inflammation, the least joint pain, and the least gut problems. The clearest mental thinking that you can possibly have. Then I wouldn’t call it a cheat meal, I would call it a disappointing meal. And so then the question becomes, how many times a week would you like to disappoint yourself?

Dr. Berry mentions that if it’s health issues that one is looking to fix, one shouldn’t cheat. He adds. that cheating can cause Chronic Inflammation, Joint Pain, and Gut Issues and leads to Brain Fog. Dr. further says that in that case, he wouldn’t call it a cheat meal, but would rather refer to it as a Disappointing Meal. He finishes up by saying that the question stays to be that how many times in a week would one like to disappoint themselves.

Dr. Berry’s Thoughts On Disappointing Cheat Meals

Well, I don’t ever want to disappoint myself. I don’t ever want to disappoint my family. Because we all have to understand that chronic disease is a burden. And the burden is not only on yourself but also on your family. And so would, I mean, do you want to disappoint your family?

Dr. Berry believes that he would personally never like to disappoint himself by cheating on his diet. He adds that this is also a disappointing deed toward one’s family. Dr. mentions that one needs to understand that Chronic Disease is a mere burden. He finishes up by saying that the burden is not just on the individual but on the family too.
