Keto Murgh Malai Tikka

Keto Murgh Malai Tikka

Yes, midweek blues strike us too and there’s definitely something we can do! Please your taste buds with this recipe of Keto Murgh Malai Tikka. The chicken tikka we are talking about is quite different from the regular ones as it has a keto element in it.

You can make these keto-friendly chicken tikkas either in an oven on skewers (just like restaurant-style) or can even fry them in a pan. The best part is this recipe is pretty much a low-carb dish and it needs only a few tweaks to make it keto-friendly.

Keto Murgh Malai Tikka is very popular in India and is a legacy of the Mughal Era. The tender chunks of chicken smothered in creamy textures of Dahi or yogurt, cheese, cream along with spices, and a liberal squeeze of tangy lime.

Tips:

1) While cutting the boneless chicken, go for leg and thigh meat as they work best for tikkas.

2) If you\’re using wooden skewers, then soak them in some water for a while so that they don\’t burn in the oven during the cooking process.

It is conventionally small cuts of boneless marinated chicken stringed on skewers and roasted on a charcoal fire. Now that there are no tandoors, it is grilled in ovens or pan-fried. It is traditionally eaten with green coriander and mint chutney served with onion rings and lemon wedges.

Keto Murgh Malai Tikka is made using deboned, skinless chicken thighs which are much higher in fat, therefore the flavor and the chicken marinade is made using sour cream rather than yogurt, which again means, more fat & fewer carbs and to make it more keto-friendly It is served with cauliflower rice, rather than basmati rice or naan.
