2-4 gms of ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon of freshly grated nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon of kosher salt
20 g of unsalted butter, melted and cooled.
10 g of Almond Flour/ Coconut Flour
2 g of ground cinnamon
10 g of Erythritol
10 g of Almonds / Pecans
- Warm your oven to 350°F and grease a baking dish and set it aside.
- Primarily, prepare the crumble topping. Into a medium-sized bowl, place the flour, xanthan gum, erythritol, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt, and blend to combine, working out any lumps. Add the butter, and mix to combine well. This mixture will now become thick then place the bowl in the freezer to cool for about 10 minutes.
- Now to make the filling, in a large bowl, arrange the apple flour, erythritol, and cinnamon, and toss to combine well. Shift the apple mixture to the prepared baking dish, and spread them into an even layer. Divide the nuts evenly over the top of the apple filling. Transfer the crumble topping from the refrigerator and break it up into large chunks with a fork. Spread the topping in an even layer all over the top of the apple filling. Push gently on the crumble topping to ensure that it adheres to the filling.
- Pour the baking dish with aluminium foil and place it in the centre of the preheated oven. Cook for 25 minutes, remove the foil and continue to bake until the crumble topping is golden brown and the apples are fork tender (about another 20 minutes).
