Adding citrus fruits such as oranges adds Vitamin C and antioxidants and helps in increasing the absorption of Iron present in beetroots.

Easy Recipe For Blood Orange Beet Smoothie

INGREDIENTS

• 1 medium beet (about ½ cup) 

• 1 medium beet (about ½ cup)

• 1 cup frozen mixed berries

• Half inch ginger

• ½ cup blood oranges (about 4 – 5 blood oranges)

• Half  cup Almond milk

INSTRUCTIONS :

Add all the ingredients into the blender and blend for 1-2 minutes

until smooth.

NOTES :

  1.       Use fresh peeled beetroot and orange for better flavor.
  1.       You can substitute the almond milk with hung curd or yogurt to make the smoothie.
  1.       Other add-ins that are good for rounding this smoothie out nutritionally: 1 teaspoon of flax/chia seeds, a big handful of mild greens like baby spinach, or a scoop of vegan protein powder.
